Finance & Operations Manager

About Immersve

Immersve is a global payments company and Mastercard principal member, built to make digital assets spendable in real time on the Mastercard network. We power some of the largest crypto card programs in the world, including Binance, KuCoin, Bitget Wallet and MetaMask, with no bank and no fiat rail involved. We own the full stack, end to end.

Money is moving onchain faster than most financial systems can keep up with. Stablecoins settle in seconds, run around the clock, and don’t care about time zones or banks. Immersve is the last mile between web3 infrastructure and the Mastercard network, turning stablecoin balances into money people can spend today, everywhere Mastercard is accepted, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Our partners don’t have to teach their users a new way to pay. We handle the plumbing, so the experience feels exactly like the one people already know. The next wave of financial institutions will win by rebuilding what’s underneath while everything on the surface stays familiar. That’s the problem we’re solving, and why we’re hiring people who want to build it.

The role

As Finance & Operations Manager, you’ll play a key part in how our Finance and Operations teams evolve, covering both financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and finance controllership. You’ll also lead projects from start to finish.

We currently partner with an outsourced finance and accounting provider. Our virtual CFO there will give you technical leadership and mentoring, and others in their team will work alongside you on extra capacity, bookkeeping, and monthly cash and management reporting.

You’ll support the COO with growing autonomy: running today’s finance activities, standing up new finance processes, and working closely with the Operations team. You’ll have day-to-day ownership of finance and accounting, coordinating external partners and cross-functional teams, and keeping stakeholders clearly and proactively informed.

This role has real influence on how we grow. There’s room for fast career progression across FP&A and controllership, and the chance to shape the role as the business evolves, with guidance from experienced leaders and a high degree of autonomy.

Responsibilities

Financial planning and analysis

  • Forecasting: we’re growing fast, so forecasts need regular updates, sometimes at short notice ahead of investor or capital-raising meetings.
  • Unit economics and metrics: set up and own reporting on key finance metrics, including the unit economics of cardholder transactions.
  • Partner and collateral invoicing: work with Operations to set up invoicing and monitor collections.
  • Fund flow accounting and month-end close: review month-end close, contribute to fund flow accounting, and help investigate variances.
  • Mastercard reporting: own Mastercard billing and make sure it’s accurate and fair.
  • GST and VAT: set up and own GST and VAT compliance processes with our compliance accounting provider.
  • Financial statements and tax returns: work with our provider to complete annual financial statements for our entities in New Zealand, Australia, the UK and other markets.
  • Reporting and reconciliation tools: lead projects such as building an internal fund flow reporting and reconciliation tool.

Operations

  • General support for the Operations team as needed, including project management and reporting to stakeholders and leadership.

What we’re looking for

  • A great team player who’s also happy working independently.
  • A focus on outcomes, with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Strong organisation, structure and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to assess complex compliance risk scenarios and make recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with external partners.
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ideally, a Chartered Accountant qualification, or progress towards one.

Perks

  • Flexibility: work from anywhere in New Zealand, with five weeks’ annual leave.
  • Support: a people-first approach, with investment in your growth, learning and development.
  • Reward: a competitive salary and share options.
  • Kit: a MacBook Pro and a home office budget.
